Het is inderdaad zo dat de investeringen tijdreeks de grootste daling heeft ondervonden vanaf maart 2001. De student vermeldt wel niet dat het verschil significant is omdat de inkepingen van de boxplots niet overlappen. Hij merkt wel terecht op dat er 2 grote outliers zijn bij de investeringenreeks , maar deze hebben enkel invloed op het gemiddelde en bij de notched boxplots kijkt men naar de mediaan de in veel mindere mate wordt beïnvloed door outliers.

Het is duidelijk dat de investeringen het sterkst gedaald zijn sinds maart 2001. Er zijn significante verschillen tussen de investeringen en de andere gegevens, de inkepingen overlappen mekaar niet. De mediaan van de investeringen ligt veel lager

Het is correct om te bweren dat de veronderstellingjuist is. De student verwijst terecht naar de 2 extreme outliers in de boxplot voor de investeringen, maar dat is veel minder relevant als het over notched boxplots gaat. De student zou beter ook nog aantonen dat, doordat de inkepingen niet overlappen, het verschil significant is. Eventueel nog vermelden dat men ook in de tabel kan zien dat de mediaan(met waarde 82,45) significant verschilt van de waarde van het basisjaar (nl. 100).

We zien dat de investeringen het meeste zijn achteruitgegaan omdat deze mediaan het laagtste ligt tov het basisjaar. De inkepingen van de Notched boxplots overlappen elkaar niet dus het is hier niet toevallig dat de mediaan van de investeringen het laagste ligt. De afzetprijs en de totaalproductie zijn ongeveer gelijk gebleven
