Aan de hand van de grafiek van de notched boxplots zien we duidelijk dat de mediaan van de laatste boxplot het hoogst ligt. Dit kunnen we ook nog eens terugvinden in de tabel die automatisch berekend wordt, omdat de lower bound daar duidelijk het hoogst is.

Elke boxplot in de grafiek geeft een portfolio weer. De opgave bepaalt dat we een minimumrendement moeten halen van 3,8%. We tekenen een horizontale lijn trekken in het punt 103,8.
We zien ook dat deze lijn duidelijk onder het betrouwbaarheidsinterval van IND10_UT90 ligt. IND30_UT70 is hier een twijfelgeval, maar ik denk dat het net niet boven de lijn ligt.
We stellen vast dat IND10_UT90 de beste investering is, met het hoogste rendement.
De student kwam ook tot dit resultaat en loste de oefening dus correct op.

We zien dat bij de laatste portefeuille de mediaan het hoogst ligt. Bij deze portefeuille ligt ons rendement dus het hoogst. Bovendien kent deze portefeuille de kleinste spreiding.
Ons doel was om minstens 3,8% rendement te behalen. Als we een horizontale lijn trekken ter hoogte van de waarde 103,8 zien we dat de mediaan van de laatste portefeuille hier wel degelijk boven ligt. Bovendien bedraagt de lowerbound van het betrouwbaarheidsinterval van het gemiddelde van de laatste portefeuille 104.388658650490. We kunnen dus met zekerheid stellen dat ons redement minstens 3,8% zal zijn. We kunnen dus besluiten dat IND10_UT90 de beste investering voor deze invetseerder is.
