Je kan ook gewoon een virtuele horizontale lijn trekken ter hoogte van 103.8 (ROI 3.8%). Het beste is dat de de investering boven deze virtuele lijn ligt. Bij de laatste investering kan je zien dat er maar ongeveer 20% van de waarnemingen onder deze lijn liggen. Dit wil ook zeggen dat 70% van de observaties er boven liggen dus er is bij deze investering de grootste kans dat de ROI boven 3.8% is. Ook het betrouwbaarheidsinterval (de inkepingen) liggen boven de virtuele lijn dus een ROI boven 3.8% is dus niet te wijten aan toeval.

De analyse betreffende de keuze voor de mediaan van de student is goed geanalyseerd weergegeven. Het trekken van een lijn ter hoogte van 3.8% geeft een duidelijk beeld over de kans dat de investering boven deze lijn ligt. Bij de laatste investering ligt deze er voor een groot deel boven waarbij zelfs de betrouwbaarheidsintervallen erboven liggen. Dus van toeval is er al minder sprake. De manier waarop de student het aanpakt is ook correct.
