Een dendogram poogt de gegevens in te delen in categorieën met gelijkaardige gegevens. In dit geval zijn er teveel gegevens om ze duidelijk te kunnen aflezen uit de grafiek, maar bij een reeks met minder gegevens zou je bijvoorbeeld kunnen vaststellen dat in de lage maanden meer of minder werkloosheid is dan in de hogere maanden.

De dendogram groepeert gegevens in clusters en verdeelt ze dan nog verder tot je uiteindelijk bij 1 gegeven terechtkomt. Zo kunnen groepen visueel onderscheiden worden. Hier zijn er echter zoveel gegevens dat een volledige analyse haast niet mogelijk is.
