Op de bivariate Kernel zie je naast de puntenwolk een lijn die zo dicht mogelijk de puntenwolk benadert (=regressielijn), de hogelijnen zijn de omtrek van de schijfjes. In dit geval zijn de omtreklijnen niet cirkelvormig dus de correlatie is niet gelijk aan 0. Alle clusters wijzen in dezelfe richting, dus er is een positief verband, uit de tabel kan je dan aflezen dat de correlatie 0.63 is.

De positieve correlatie is ook af te leiden uit het feit dat de puntenwolk ongeveer volgens de regressielijn loopt(alles op de regressielijn => correlatie = 1).
