De linkse ‘one sided confidence interval at 0.95’ wordt niet gebruikt omdat enkel de rechterkant van belang is. Het percentage van varkensvet mag niet meer dan 15% bedragen. Het steekproefgemiddelde is kleiner dan 0.1892 en ligt dus binnen het betrouwbaarheidsinterval.

We krijgen hier de juiste output van de student maar geen interpretatie of conclusie.We gebruiken de one-sided confidence interval van de right-tail, omdat enkel de afwijking van het vetpercentage naar boven toe een economisch voordeel voor de producent kan betekenen. De rechter staart is nauwkeuriger, omdat de volledige 5% (foutmarge) toegewezen wordt aan de rechterkant. De sample mean ligt onder 0.189276559191704 en dus binnen het 95%-betrouwbaarheidsinterval.

De berekening is juis maar conclusie ontbreekt. Men kon concluderen : We verkrijgen bij het betrouwbaarheidsinterval van 95% een waarde van 18%, dit is groter dan de 15,46% die eerder werd waargenomen en ligt dus binnen het 95% betrouwbaarheidsinterval. We concluderen hieruit dat er geen fraude gepleegd wordt.

De conclusie werd niet vermeld. We gebruiken hier enkel de right one-sided confidence interval at 0.95 omdat deze enkel de afwijking van het vetpercentage naar boven toe geeft en dit kan een economisch voordeel betekenen voor de producent. Het werkelijke vetpercentage moet dus tussen min oneindig en 18,93% gelegen zijn. Bovendien ligt 15,46% tussen min oneindig en 18,93%.
