Conclusie Partial Correlation: Zo zie je dat de derde reeks (z) ervoor zorgt dat x en y een significant kleiner correlatie hebben. Z heeft dus duidelijk een invloed op deze reeksen

Correcte interpretatie. Hier maakt men berekeningen aan de hand van 3 variabelen. Alle correlaties worden berekend, maar voor de partiële correlatie wordt de 3de variabele gezuiverd. De 3de variabele kan een vertekend beeld geven.

Met de partiële correlatie gaat men bekijken hoe de correlatie tussen drie variabelen is. In dit voorbeeld ziet men dat er een sterke correlatie is tussen x en z (0,86), en y en z (0,72). Het verband tussen x en y (0,54) is echter beperkt.
