De Type 2 Error wijst op de kans dat iemand die schuldig is aan de veronderstelde stelling, toch als onschuldig zal worden aanzien.

Hier gaan we er van uit dat de getuigenis klopt, dus dat er effectief gefraudeerd word.
De kans dat deze fraude niet opgemerkt zal worden is m.a.w. 93,94%. De kans dat we ze dus wel opmerken is bijgevolg slechts 6,06%.

De kans dat de leverancier niet gepakt wordt is zodanig groot (93,94%), dat het voor hem heel verleidelijk is om toch te poteren.
