We zien hier een goed voorbeeld van wat patiele correlatie juist doet. Als we kijken naar de correlatie tussen Y en Z, zien we een sterke positieve correlatie, maar wanneer we kijken naar de correlatie van Y en Z zonder de invloed van X zien we een sterke negatieve correlatie... Samengevat partiele correlatie zorgt voor een correlatie gezuiverd van een derde variabele...
