De student is begonnen met een goede analyse van deze opgave, maar ik denk dat ik hier nog enkele dinge aan kan toevoegen.
Zoals de student al aanhaalde zijn de investeringen het meeste achteruitgegaan sinds maart 2001. Om dit te weten te komen moeten we 100 als basisjaar nemen. Dan kunnen we afleiden dat de mediaan van de investeringen het meeste gedaald is. Om te weten of deze daling significant is moeten we naar het betrouwbaarheidsinerval kijken. Dit overlapt niet met het betrouwbaarheidsinterval van de andere variabele, dus we kunnen stellen dat de daling significant is. Dit vermelde de student ook door te zeggen dat de daling niet aan toeval te wijten is. Tenslotte moet ik nog zeggen dat we ook kunnen zien dat de investeringen de grootste spreiding hebben, maar dat zegt niets over de daling.

De conclusie van de student is correct. De investeringen zijn inderdaad het sterkste gedaald (de laagste mediaan). Er is ook geen overlapping met de andere notches, waardoor er zeker geen sprake is van toeval.
