De studente vermeld dat de kleine spreiding van de laatste investering als gevolg heeft dat de mediaan het hoogst ligt. Dit is echter niet het geval. De spreiding is hier niet relevant. Men moet enkel kijken naar de mediaan. Door een lijn te trekken ter hoogte van 103.8 (de investeerder wil 3.8% rendement) kan men vaststellen dat enkel de mediaan van de laatste investering hierboven ligt. Doordat de inkepingen van de boxplots overlappen is er echter kans op toeval dat deze mediaan hoger ligt dan die van de andere investeringen.

Min of meer correct. De laatste investering garandeert steeds wel meer dan 3,8%. Dit kan gevonden worden door in de tabel naar de lower bound te zien. Deze ligt hoger dan 103,8, dus hieruit kunnen we besluiten dat deze steeds meer dan 3,8% zal opbrengen. Er is dus wel degelijk een oplossing! Ivm de 90 is niet relevant in deze situatie.
