Het gebruik van logaritme zorgt ervoor dat de grote getallen veel kleiner worden, de grote schommelingen worden afgezwakt. De spreiding wordt aangepast, deze wordt veel kleiner.

Taak 3
De student heeft de R code juist gewijzigd.
z veranderen in log(z)

De conclusie van de student was echter beperkt omdat hij niet wist welke invloed de log moet hebben.

De log gaat ervoor zorgen dat de grote schommelingen worden afgevlakt en de kleine schommelingen een beetje worden uitvergroot.
Hierdoor wordt de spreiding verkleind en gaan de outliers ook dichter naar het gemiddelde toe komen.

De R code is juist gewijzigd.

De conclusie van de student is andermaal beperkt.

Door z te vervangen door log(z) worden de grote schommelingen verkleind en de kleine vergroot. Dit verkleind de spreiding. Outliers zullen hierdoor teruggedrongen worden.
