Het antwoord van de student is juist, maar had iets uitgebreider gekund.

Elke ster stelt één wagen voor. Elk lijntje (spaak) van de ster stelt één van de zeven variabelen voor. Sommige sterren van wagens hebben een gelijkaardige vorm, andere dan weer helemaal niet. We kunnen verschillende categorieën van wagens onderscheiden:

Bijvoorbeeld: wagen 19 en 20 behoren tot dezelfde categorie.

De sterren met een gelijkaardige vorm kunnen we in dezelfde categorie plaatsen. De spaken binnen een ster van sterren met dezelfde vorm hebben ongeveer een gelijkaardige waarde.

Elke spaak/lijn geeft een waarde aan.

Opmerking:
Elke tekening stelt een auto voor.
Indien een 2 of meerdere tekeningen gelijkaardig zijn dan wil dit zeggen dat deze auto's overeenkomen qua kenmerken.

Ik ga akkoord met de uitleg hierboven. Bij mijn antwoord had ik vermeld dat ik op dat moment niet wist hoe deze oplossing te maken adhv het starplot, bij deze weet ik dat wel.

Opmerking: bij de 'names of x columns' dient er nog een enter gewist te worden. Deze melding geeft dit ook weer:
