Juist, maar besluit is niet volledig: de beta in de eerste tabel stelt een positieve of negatieve verband voor tussen de SD en het gemiddelde. Hier is dus duidelijk een positief verband. Ook moet men zien of dat beta wel significant verschillend is van 0, hier moeten we dan naar de p-waarde zien en deze is kleiner als 0.005 dus beta is significant van 0. Het positief verband betekent wanneer het gemiddelde stijgt, dat de SD ook stijgt. Als men de grafiek bekijkt ziet men ook een positief verband , als men de outlier van linksboven niet zou meerekenen, dan zou er zelfs nog een groter positief verband zijn. Deze calculator heeft de volgende werking : Deze calculator gaat in dit geval de tijdreeks onderverdelen in de verschillende jaren. Hij berekent voor elk jaar het gemiddelde, de standaardafwijking en de range.

Goede berekening maar weinig uitleg.
In de tabellen vind je de berekeningen terug voor de SMP. Je kan zien dat de waarde voor lambda gelijk is aan 0.46 (afgerond 0.5). De p-waarde in de 1ste tabel is gelijk aan 0.038 en is dus kleiner dan 0.05, wat verklaart dat de gevonden waarde voor bijvoorbeeld bèta niet toevallig is. Met een waarde van 0.5 voor lambda zullen we de tijdreeks dus meer stationair kunnen maken.
De grafiek geeft het verband weer tussen de standaarddeviatie en het gemiddelde. Er treedt een positief lineair verband maar er moet wel opgepast worden met outliers die een sterke invloed hebben op het gemiddelde.

De student geeft een zeer beperkt antwoord. Enkel de conclusie wordt gegeven maar niet hoe deze bekomen werd. Er had nog vermeld mogen worden dat de Standard Deviation Mean plot de tijdreeks in gelijke periodes verdeelt en het verband tussen het gemiddelde en de standaardfout weergeeft. Het klopt dat de lambda gelijk is aan 0.5. Hier nog bijgevoegd mogen worden dat om hier zeker van te zijn er gekeken moet worden naar de p-waarde. Deze is kleiner dan 0.05 wat er op duidt dat de beta significant verschillend is van 0. Bijgevolg is de helling van de regressierechte niet aan toeval toe te schrijven. De transformatie met lambda ingesteld op 0.5 is nuttig.
