De student is tot de juiste conclusie gekomen. Er is inderdaad alleen maar een schijnbare trend. We weten namelijk dat de schommelingen puur aan het toeval te wijten zijn.

De excess of heads grafiek zegt ons hoeveel meer kop (of let) er gegooid wordt dan let (of kop). De proportion of heads laat ons op zijn beurt het relatieve aantal zien van kop (of let). Deze convergeert rond 0.5, dit is logisch gezien de wet van de grote getallen. De student besluit correct dat er in deze tijdseries geen seizoenaliteit is. Je denkt een trend te kunnen voorspellen, maar dit mag niet omdat het een simulatie is zoals hier wordt gezegd. Een stijging of daling is hier puur te wijten aan het toeval, niet door gebeurtenissen uit het verleden.
