De student heeft een correcte besluiten genomen in verband met de vraag bij Q5.
Dit werd bekomen door de Harrell-Davis quantiles te berekenen en dan het minimum (0.025) en het maximum (0.975) telkens te verminderen met het gemiddelde van de reeks.

Het antwoord van de student van vorig jaar was helemaal correct. Hij had enkel de step size niet aangepast van 0,01 naar 0,05.

We kunnen in de tabel de correcte antwoorden aflezen en als we het gemiddelde (0,86210) dan aftrekken bekomen we het antwoord op de vraag.

De grafiek moet wel beginnen bij 0,025 (95% betrouwbaarheidsinterval).

Aan de lange lijst van namen hierboven te zien, is dit geen eigen reproducering van de computation. Dit had misschien net iets handiger geweest...
Hier is er gebruik gemaakt van de juiste methode om deze vraag te kunnen oplossen, namelijk de Harrell - Davis Quantiles-methode. Hierbij kan de step-size van de quantiles aangepast worden opdat we zouden kunnen werken met een betrouwbaarheidsinterval van 95% (en bijgevolg dus telkens 2,5% van de hoogste en laagste waarden kunnen laten wegvallen). Zoals de studnete dit heeft gedaan, kunnen we zien dat we het interval met grenzen 0.706063349267635 en 1.04239051104476 bekomen. Hier wordt dan het gemiddelde van de reeks (0,86210)afgetrokken om vervolgens de volgende grenzen te krijgen: 0,15603 en 0,18029. Dit is het interval waartussen de 'fouten' zich bevinden (getallen die buiten het 95%-betrouwbaarheidsinterval liggen). Dit controleert de 'oude' student door te kijken naar de standaardfout bij quantiles 0,025 en 0,975 en zag dat deze binnen de grenzen van dit laatste interval vallen.
Dit was een eerste methode om deze vraag op te lossen. Daarnaast kan ook de R-code aangepast worden om tot een juiste oplossing te komen (zoals Dhr. Wessa uitgelegd heeft tidjens het laatste hoorcollege). De waarde X wordt dan veranderd in X minus het gemiddelde. Dit geeft concreet: 'x<-x-0,86210'.

De student heeft de bekomen output op een correcte manier beredeneerd. Alleen moeten we hier bemerken dat de student ook de fouten van de student van vorig jaar heeft overgenomen. Dit was slechts een kleine fout, hierbij hebben beide studenten de stepsize niet aangepast. Anders was deze opdracht volledig correct.

De student had in mijn insziens de Harrell-Davis quantiles moeten gebruiken. Ook de stepsize had aangepast moeten worden zoals mijn collega hierboven reeds vermeld heeft.
